| Styling cues in the FJ Cruiser are reminiscent of Toyota's famed FJ40 4x4 utility vehicle, which was sold in the US from 1960 to 1983. Though youthful and contemporary in spirit, the FJ Cruiser offers the same state-of-the-art technology available in all Toyota SUVs, whether related to power, comfort, safety or convenience. The heritage design is seen in the front grille that binds its two round, five-inch headlights together in much the same way as it did in the FJ40. Heritage design cues are also seen in the hood and fender contours; and in the rear-mounted and exposed full-size spare tire and the off-center license plate-mounting location.
The FJ Cruiser's interior combines heritage-inspired design with the comfort and convenience of a modern Toyota SUV. The dash is bordered by upper and lower tubular forms, which frame rectangular-shaped flat panels. |
