Toyota and Mazda Announce $1.6 Billion U.S. Assembly Plant

One of the biggest pieces of news in the automotive industry has come from none other than our own Toyota brand, which announced its plans to team up with Mazda and build a new assembly plant in the United States for a whopping $1.6 billion price tag. Up to 4,000 brand new jobs are expected to grow along with the newest manufacturing location, with a focus on joint-investments as well as development of electric vehicles and self-driving car technology.

While there is no formal location for this plant, it is expected to open by 2021 - with plenty of potential locations vying for the economic boom. Toyota has also announced that it will shift the production of the Toyota Corolla there as well - which was previously scheduled to move from Ontario to a new plant in Central Mexico. No matter if you're a Corolla owner or an eco-friendly enthusiast, there is no denying how this exciting news will affect the future of our upcoming models at Sloane Toyota of Glenside.

If you're interested to find a present-day model that can suit your needs, at least until the launch of this newest Toyota plant, be sure to stop in for a visit at 503 N Easton Road in Glenside, PA today!
