The all-new 2019 Avalon has been released, and drivers in Glenside, Philadelphia, and Jenkintown hankering for a premium sedan have a lot to look forward to.

Trim levels for the new 2019 model will include the XLE, XE, Touring, Limited, Hybrid XLE, Hybrid XSE, and Hybrid Limited--the usual run. But, you might not even recognize them when you see them in the metal.

The design for the 2019 Toyota Avalon is all-new, a welcome change as the usually modest and stoic Toyota brand branches out and experiments with sharp angles, aggressive fascias, and bold new bodies.

The exterior changes are stunning--but it’s the sophisticated set of tech features inside that really make the new Avalon a supremely tempting option. Prices start at around $35,500 for a well-equipped base model.

Smartphone Tech in the New 2019 Avalon

For the first time ever in the Toyota lineup, a car will offer Apple CarPlay in a model lineup. This is huge--while Toyota's Entune system is a good standalone, the lack of Apple CarPlay (and Android Auto--which isn't offered just yet, but will very likely be added within the next few years) was something that may have been keeping shoppers in Willow Grove or Trevose from consider a Toyota sedan over a competitor's car.

No more.

iPhone users, rejoice.

Toyota Remote Connect

But wait, tech-heads of PA... there's more. The new 2019 Avalon, with Entune 3.0, can be equipped with Remote Connect app features, that let you access key information and actions from anywhere in the world (as long as your smartphone and your car have access to data/wifi connection).

You can do handy things like:

  • Start engine
  • Lock doors
  • Unlock doors
  • Set interior climate temperatures
  • Locate your vehicle
  • Check status of open windows/doors/trunk
  • Get alerts about low fuel
  • Monitor vehicle speed, mileage, or location when someone else is driving the car

Imagine being able to keep tabs on your kids when they borrow your car (or your friend, let's be real), to check fuel levels from anywhere, and to never forget where you parked in Horsham or Ambler ever again.
